DLR Prepares for Three King’s Day Celebration

Disneyland is gearing up to host a three-day celebration for the Latin American holiday known as Three Kings’ Day.

“The kids on January 6th leave their shoes out on the doorsteps, and the Three Kings each bring the kids special gifts,” Andrae Gill, who is with Disneyland, explained.

“And the kids actually leave out hay and food for the Three Kings’ animals, so it’s a great tradition,” she added.

“We’re so excited to be able to celebrate it not only to share the culture with people who might not be familiar, but also for those who celebrate it, it’s a great place to come,” Gill said.

The Three Kings’ Day celebration is being held on Jan. 4, 5 and 6 at the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree in Frontierland.

The area will be dressed up with colorful paper banners and flowers for the occasion, and the Disney characters will be wearing their fiesta bests.

There will be activities for children including coloring, decorating paper crowns and face painting.

The theme park will also have live performances by the Ballet Folklorico Dancers and festive foods including the traditional Rosca de Reyes (King’s Bread).
